TripleCord's workshop is coming up in two weeks and we're getting so excited! It's kind of like having friends over to your house for the first time. We've been scrubbing up schedules and dusting off our best tips, we've been lighting candles and making things homey, we've been making a playlist of our favorite shooting spots and inviting EVERYONE to share in the fun. Today, another happy detail fell into place: our favorite model, Olivia has agreed to be the subject of one of our shoots. We have been photographing Olivia since our business began. First she seemed to soar in a white gown on a cliff, later she posed (adorned in Haley Hill jewelry) with her sister's beautiful horse Gabbi, next it was dignified frolicking in Carlo Pignatelli gowns in Rome, and most recently portrayed a strong, feminine heroine in Ladera (an image which will be a two page spread in the upcoming issue of Your Wedding Day Magazine.) As you can see from these photos, Olivia is not only beautiful but she soulfully contributes to image-making with her wistful eyes that seem to be gazing to heaven and to the meaning of this life all at once. As photographers and artists, we are commissioned with the task of synthesizing ideas, myths, and meaning together into something tangible, something that makes people catch their breath and believe in something deeper than face value. And when a subject enters into this task with us, adding her own faith and worth, the collaboration becomes even more meaningful. I really hope you sign up to experience this workshop with us. Together we will make the images that the world needs to see. It's time to create something epic. Annie

Let's face it, we've all been there:The wedding morning is off to a great start. You've carefully positioned the bride in good lighting for gorgeous morning portraits. You've carefully collected every detail and styled them together to create crisp images of the rings, the flowers, the shoes. But now that you're headed to the ceremony site you have to deal with that dreaded demon: MID-DAY LIGHTING. Yes, your perfect couple now face each other and you see harsh shadows, glaring colors, and hot, direct light on a white dress. IS IT TIME TO PANIC? NO, it's time to pull out your bag of tricks that you picked up at the TripleCord workshop. Bad lighting is a fact that every serious photographer has to contend with. But there are practical solutions and ways to set yourself up for success both at the moment of capture AND in the post-production phase. And since we know it's a hot topic (no pun intended, haha), we are dedicating a whole photoshoot at our workshop to victory over bad lighting. Then the next day, we'll be talking about how to put those images through Photoshop for the best results. Here is bride Janessa in the most harsh light of the day, noontime! Here, we've altered our exposure to get a more pastel look. And finally, we've added a TripleCord Texture to get an even more pastel feel enabling us to give the bride a variety of looks all within just a few minutes. The ambient light that evening ended up being perfect. We got some dramatic looks as well as some beautiful pastel soft looks. Wedding days are sort of a beautiful mess that unravel before your camera, and not being in control of the flow of the day is no excuse for missing out on all that beauty. We've learned the hard way so you can learn the fast way. Sign up quickly since space is limited, and conquer your mid-day blues forever. Hope to see you next month! Annie |

Last weekend it was our pleasure and delight to host a lovely photo shoot in the green Ladera hills. Vanessa and Jack are the cute couple and they will be tying the knot in July. Before they make it official, we decided to take a twilight stroll and create some artwork to celebrate their love. Vanessa was so sweet on the phone! "So, I saw that sometimes you put a couch in the meadow..." I could tell I was working with a girl who knew what she wanted, and what she wanted was romantic style. We discussed the shoot and decided we should make her dreams come true :) I live in Old Towne Orange (read: antique heaven), so I walked out the front door determined to find something special. Luckily our friends at Someplace in Time Antiques had just what I was dreaming of: a PINK SATIN couch. After that, I collected some rununculus blossoms from JenK Floral Design (also in Old Towne), stole Charlene's bike (sorry Chuck) and headed to Ladera where the magic was about to happen. Our friend, Dan Herring was a man with a plan and not only coordinated the couch transportation, but contributed great images, as well as his good spirits, to the evening. Here are the results:
Vanessa and Jack are awesome people and so easy to photograph. Vanessa is a first grade teacher, and her sweet energy is so adorable. Jack is a builder: a real man's man with a great sense of humor and a tendency to sweep Vanessa off her feet. I'm so happy these two found each other! Andrew Opfer also joined me on the shoot; the two below are from his camera. And a few from Daniel Herring...
Another great one by Andrew..
Vanessa and Jack, Thank you so much for being you! Your love and playfulness toward each other was inspiring, and we cannot WAIT to photograph your gorgeous wedding. Pink Satin Wishes ♥

Please friends, pray for Cyprus; one of our precious girls sponsored by Heart 4 Africa. She is battling with TB and is in critical condition. We can't imagine life without her sweet presence at our life home in Kenya, Africa.
